Superseded by Rev. Rul. 58-461
The use of a material identified as Sparkolloid No. 2 and conforming to the approved formula, in the proportion of two pounds per 1,000 gallons of wine, to clarify wine, is considered as being consistent with good commercial practice and is approved for use in the treatment of wine, within the general limitations of section 240.524 of the Wine Regulations. Accordingly, Revenue Ruling 55-603, C.B. 1955-2, 709, which contains a list of materials authorized for use in the treatment of wine, additional to those specifically covered by the Wine Regulations, is modified by changing the identification of the material listed therein as `Sparkolloid' to `Sparkolloid No. 1,' and by adding thereto `Sparkolloid No. 2.'
