Purpose

(1) This obsoletes IRM section 10.5.3, Privacy and Information Protection, Identity Protection Program

Material Changes

(1) The information previously found in this IRM can now be found in IRM 25.23.1 Identity Theft and Victim Assistance-Policy Guidance , IRM 25.23.2 Identity Theft and Victim Assistance-General Procedures and IRM dentity Theft and Victim Assistance-BMF Identity Theft Processing , because of a consolidation of functions into the new Identity Theft Victim Assistance (IDTVA) organization.

Effect on Other Documents

IRM 10.5.3 Identity Protection Program is obsolete as of 10-1-2015.

Audience

The provisions in this manual apply to all divisions, functional units, employees, and contractors within the IRS.
