SECTION 1. PURPOSE
The purpose of this revenue procedure is to modify Rev. Proc. 83-3 with respect to elements 6, 24, 25, 26, and 30 of SEC. 5 UNDER PART "B"-MAGNETIC TAPE SPECIFICATIONS.
SEC. 2. CHANGES
Element 6 of SEC. 5 "State Code" is changed to delete CD for Canada, MX for Mexico, and XX for other Foreign Countries as valid state codes on the recipient "Q" record. Instead of entering CD, MX, or XX, you should leave this field blank and enter the appropriate country code in element 11 of SECTION 5.
Elements 24, 25, 26, and 30 of SEC. 5-"RECIPIENT "Q" RECORD" OF REV. PROC. 83-3 are changed to read as follows:

26 358-359 Rate of Tax Enter the two digit tax rate.
Do not use percent signs or
decimal points. A valid rate
must be shown. Valid rates
are 00, 02, 04, 05, 10, 12,
14, 15, 20, 25, 27, and 30.
Use 27 and 12 for true tax
rates of 27 1/2% and 12 1/2%.
When an exemption code of 1-4
is shown, the rate of tax
must equal 00%.
30 393 Reserved Zero fill.
SEC. 3. EFFECT ON REVENUE PROCEDURES
Rev. Proc. 83-3 is modified.
