The time for making elections or giving notice pursuant to certain provisions of the Interest Equalization Tax Extension Act of 1967, Public Law 90-59, enacted July 31, 1967, C.B. 1967-2, 482, has been extended until 30 days after the issuance of applicable regulations.
The elections and notice concern:
(1) Domestic corporations, primarily engaged in lending money to the public generally through offices located outside of the United States, desiring to make an election to be treated as foreign issuers or obligors under section 4920(a)(3)(C) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1954.
(2) Certain domestic finance corporations engaged in the business of acquiring foreign debt obligations desiring to make an election to be treated as foreign issuers or obligators under section 4920(a)(3B) of the Code.
(3) Certain foreign finance corporations engaged in the business of acquiring foreign debt obligations choosing to give notice under section 4915(c)(3) of the Code.
