An insoluble form of `Polyvinylpyrrolidone' (known as PVP) meeting the requirements of section 121.1110 of the Regulations prescribed by the Food and Drug Administration of the Department of Health, Education, and Welfare may be used, within the general limitations of section 240.524 of the Wine Regulations, to stabilize the color of white wine in amounts not to exceed two pounds per 1,000 gallons of wine, provided the wine after treatment contains less than one-hundredth of one percent (0.01) of the material.
Winemakers desiring to use this material to stabilize the color in white wine may obtain approval of the Assistant Regional Commissioner, Alcohol and Tobacco Tax, by filing notice pursuant to the provisions of section 240.1052 of the regulations.
