Rev. Rul. 60-374

The Formulas For Denatured Alcohol and Rum Regulations, at section 212.15, provide that, subject to certain conditions the Director, Alcohol and Tobacco Tax Division, may authorize, in his discretion, the use of any formula of specially denatured alcohol or specially denatured rum for uses not specifically authorized in part 212 of the regulations. Held , specially denatured alcohol formulas numbered 3-A, 29, 30, and 35-A are authorized for use in the manufacture of synthetic resins under formulas on Form 1479-A, Formula for Preparation Made With Specially Denatured Alcohol, which have been approved by the Director. Code number 590 should be used in reporting the use of specially denatured alcohol.
