HIGHWAY USE EXCISE TAXES EXTENDED.

The Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for Tax Policy has announced the adoption of amendments to the treasury regulations which implement the extension of the Highway Motor Vehicle Use Tax until 1977 as mandated by the Highway Act of 1970. The tax is imposed by Section 4481 of the Code on the use of the public highways by trucks and is based on the weight of the vehicle. (41 Fed.
